    u.l. printed: AMERICAN FALLS FROM BELOW \ NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. \ The height of the falls on the American side is \ 164 feet wide on the Canadian side it is 150 feet. \ The water plunges in an abyss 1000 feet wide. The \ discharge is about 18,000,000 cubic feet per minute. \ On the American side is an inclined railway which \ takes passengers to the foot of the falls, where a \ view can be had from below. Niagara Falls is con- \ sidered one of the natural wonders of the world.
