    Autograph letter signed. Says she is glad Pater [John Dorr] is doing so much better and that there is no damage to his legs. Reports much talk of war. Says she is glad Dorr is not considering going abroad. Expresses her concern that they might not be able to make the trip north due to the inadequate medical situation there [Mayo is a doctor.] and due to their reduction in pay if Mayo has to go in the service. Says she misses “Sweet House” and everyone. Expresses the hope that she can be even a little degree of the mother Dorr is. Mayo has been made a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma which he did not expect.
