l.l. printed in blue, below image: 6536. CASA GRANDE RUINS, ARIZONA
l.l. to l.r. in black ink: These old ruins are 16 miles from Sacaton. They were \ "ruins" when Coronado explored this region. It was my good fortune \ to visit them when Dr. Fawkes of Smithsonian Inst. was making excavations.
Verso:
u.c. to l.l. in ink [transverse]: Sacaton, Arizona, June 2, 1908. \ My dear Mrs. Chase:- Your good letter and \ the arrangements came duly. Are very \ sorry that Mabel is not strong. Received \ word from Anita Lake at the time your \ letter came saying that she had just \ reached Los Angeles with her mother who \ is quite ill. I wonder if Mabel has \ read the article by Alice Fellows \ in the March Harper's Bazar. It seems very \ reasonable, & a very possible aid in re- \ lieving one of nervousness. I cannot decide \ upon my vacation yet. Our work has been \ seriously interfered with recently by the \ falling of an adobe wall in the girls' dormi - \ tory & at present all is chaos. I may be \ obliged to forego my vacation. It was very good \ to hear from you. [cont...]
u.c. in ink [upside down]: [...cont] My love to you, & kindest remembrances \ to your family & the Sawyers. \ Elizabeth J. Richards.
u.r. [stamp]: SACATON, \ 3 \ JUN \ 1908 \ ARIZ.
c.l. printed along left edge: "PHOSTINT" CARD. MADE ONLY BY DETROIT PUBLISHING CO.
