u.l. printed: FRED \ HARVEY "PHOSTINT" \ TRADE MARK REG U. S. PAT OFF. \ MADE ONLY BY DETROIT PUBLISHING CO.
u.l. printed: Far beyond the gloomy and foridding river \ gorge, where, through twelve miles of space, looms \ the north wall of the canyon in all its grand sym- \ metry of cliff and terrace, we note as our eyes be- \ come more accustomed to the variety of form and \ color a towering gateway opening away into a deep \ and dizzy gulf that recedes far into Kaibab Plateau. \ This is the Bright Angel Amphitheatre, a noble \ canyon valley two or three miles wide, fifteen miles \ in length, and deep as the main canyon itself, and \ second only to it in imposing gradeaur. Through \ its center flows Bright Angel Creek, the Colorado's \ most beautiful tributary.
l.l. in ink: May 15 1922 \ from Indian \ Heiroglyphics
