Typed letter signed. Tells Dorr of the contents of a note from Jacques Maritain to his son Gregory about the hours spent in the darkroom being a sort of religious contemplation in the solitude, Says how that is similar to what Dorr has said about that kind of “active solitude.” Makes humorous reference to their mutual desire for privacy. Mentions his parents’ upcoming fiftieth anniversary and asks that she send them a card.
