    u.l. printed: This great Arizona pit, four-fifths of \ a mile across, and 570 feet deep, is said \ to be the result of the impact of what \ is believed to have been a huge meteorite. \ Evidences of the terrific collison are all \ about. The slopes are littered with crushed \ rock. there are boulders, some weighing \ 7,000 tons, near the edges of the crater; \ and further off rocks that were thrown \ off at the impact - some a half mile away.
