u.l. printed: NATURAL BRIDGE, VIRGINIA, U.S. \ This bridge is situated in the western portion of \ Virginia in Rockridge County, and is in the Short \ Hills of the Blue Ridge of the Appalachin [sic] Mountains. \ The arch is 60 feet spring, depth 200 feet and the \ crown 40 feet thick. It is a formation tunnel eaten \ through by the rocks by streams. While there are quite \ a few natural bridges in the United States, this is the \ most celebrated.
