    u.l. printed: The ascent of Pikes Peak by Cog Train is \ one of the remarkable trips of America. In the \ short space of nine miles the Cog Railroad \ climbs to the very top of Pikes Peak making an \ ascent of over 7,500 feet from the starting point \ in Manitou. An interesting feature during the \ early part of the season is the passage thru [sic] \ veritable snow canons cut thru [sic] the vast drifts \ that form in winter.
