    Packing. \ Throughout the most mountainous portions of \ the state transportation is even yet effected by \ pack animals. \ The five views of this series show \ how this is done. No. 48 shows the patient mule \ with the aparejo or pack saddle, upon which the \ load is to be arranged. In No. 49 the Packers are \ "sinching" the aparejo, and in the three following \ views are putting in place and securing by the \ "Diamond hitch" the load or "cargo" which the \ mule is to carry during the day.
