It is eternally snow- \ capped - hence its name. \ The Spanish Peaks, also near Trinidad, are a \ prominent feature of the landscape. \ Both these magnificent mountain views may be \ seen from Santa Fe trains while crossing the South- \ west corner of Colorado.
