    l.l. in graphite: Venetian Filigree (The "Ca d'Oro") \ Number 20 of the "Italian Series" \ Second and published state. Of the first state no proofs exist. \ I think this is one of the two or three finest of my strictly architectural plates, the others being "Lace in Stone" and "La Colegiata, Toro". It certainly manifests the greatest control of the medium. \ Superb impression on modern paper, printed by Henry E. Carling in London--J.T.A.
