Event Description
Grab a drink and join us as we read Louise Nevelson: Light & Shadow by Laurie Wilson. The story of Nevelson’s artistic, spiritual, even physical transformation (she developed a taste for outrageous outfits and false eyelashes made of mink) is inseparable from major historical and cultural shifts of the 20th century. Art historian and psychoanalyst Laurie Wilson brings a unique perspective to Nevelson’s story, drawing on hours of interviews she conducted with Nevelson and her circle. Before we dive into discussion, Carter curator Shirley Reece-Hughes will lead a tour of The World Outside: Louise Nevelson at Midcentury.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request.
