Free food. Free art. Free tunes.
Calling all DFW college students! Enjoy an exclusive evening with free food and tunes for college and graduate students. Listen to music in the galleries, make some art, and get inspired by the Carter’s collection. This event is for ages 17 and older.
Schedule
5–7 p.m.
Chat with Carter staff to learn about different museum careers and get advice on job hunting in the art world. Staff will share their own backgrounds, what they do at the Carter, and their best advice for college students. Chat with five staff members and get a prize!
5–8 p.m.
Enjoy free savory snacks, sweet treats, and something to drink (nonalcoholic drinks available as well as select beer and wine for those who are 21 or older) while you chill out and listen to electric beats with DJ duo Yokyo.
Pick up a Carter crossword puzzle in the Atrium and explore the galleries to find the answers in the Carter’s collection. Finish the puzzle and get a prize!
Create your own therapeutic skyscape with Carter Community Artist Adam Fung. Supplies limited to the first 200 people.
6–6:30 p.m.
Go on a mini-tour with Carter curator Shirley Reece-Hughes to learn more about the exhibition Richard Hunt: From Paper to Metal and how experimenting with printmaking influenced Hunt’s sculpting process.
7–7:30 p.m.
Join Carter curator Michaela Haffner on a mini-tour of the exhibition Rufino Tamayo: Innovation and Experimentation, which covers over 60 years of the artist’s unique works on paper.
