Event Description

Free food. Free art. Free tunes.

Calling all DFW college students! Enjoy an exclusive evening with free food and tunes for college and graduate students. Listen to music in the galleries, make some art, and get inspired by the Carter’s collection and the exhibition Dario Robleto: The Signal.

Schedule

5–7 p.m.

Go on a behind-the-scenes tour of our Archives and chat with Carter staff to learn about the Museum’s Library and how students can use them.

5–8 p.m.

Enjoy free savory snacks, sweet treats, and something to drink (nonalcoholic drinks available as well as select beer and wine for those who are 21 or older) while you chill out and listen to music provided by DJ Wild in the Streets.

Make your mark in the cosmos and create your own artwork inspired by Dario Robleto: The Signal with Carter Community Artist Michelle Cortez Gonzales. Supplies limited to the first 200 people.

5:30 & 6:45 p.m.

Watch Dario Robleto’s immersive, 70-minute film Ancient Beacons Long for Notice, which is the third and final installment in a trilogy of video and sound installations that comprise Robleto’s years-long investigation of the scientific, philosophical, and moral tensions of attempts to represent the totality of human life even after humans cease to exist.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request.
