Event Description
No talking. No food and drinks. No bubbles
Come break the rules and say “yes!” to new art experiences at the Carter’s Second Thursdays! Each month you’ll find something different than the last—mingle with fellow art lovers, make art, and meet visiting artists, sometimes with live music and always with themed cocktails inspired by the Carter’s collection.
This month, meet artist Jean Shin and unravel the Carter connections in our newest immersive installation, Jean Shin: The Museum Body.
Schedule
5–8 p.m.
Enjoy drinks for purchase, including a specialty Spiced Pear 75 cocktail. Carter members get one complimentary drink! Lite bites are available for purchase at the Carter’s Food Cart.
Relax and decorate your own paper dolls inspired by artworks in the Carter’s collection.
Check out the video of how we installed Jean Shin: The Museum Body.
Create a silhouette portrait using discarded textiles and other collage material inspired by Jean Shin’s work with Carter Community Artist Michelle Cortez Gonzales. Supplies limited to the first 200 people.
6–7:30 p.m.
Artist Jean Shin will talk with former Carter curator Maggie Adler about her work in the exhibition Jean Shin: The Museum Body. Following their conversation, both speakers will participate in a Q&A. Seating for the talk will be first come, first served.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request. Please send us an email for more information.
