Event Description

No talking. No food and drinks. No dogs. Come break the rules and say “yes!” to new art experiences at the Carter’s Second Thursdays! Each month you’ll find something different than the last—mingle with fellow art lovers, make art, and meet visiting artists, sometimes with live music and always with themed cocktails inspired by the Carter’s collection. This month, bring your best friend (pup or person) for an evening of PAWsome activities on our Plaza crafted with your canine in mind.

Schedule

5–8 p.m.

Enjoy drinks on our Plaza, including a specialty salty dog cocktail. Carter members get one complimentary drink! Food will be available for purchase from Angi’s Louisiana Kitchen, Crazy Burger, and Frio’s Pops.

Create an impression of your pup’s paw print and decorate it to represent their personality. Led by Carter Community Artist Olivia Garcia-Hassell. Supplies limited to the first 200 people.

Vendors

6:30–8 p.m.

On our Plaza, watch Best in Show (2000), a mockumentary comedy film co-written by Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy and directed by Guest. The film follows five people as they travel to and compete in the fictional Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show. Starring Christopher Guest, Parker Posey, Michael Hitchcock, Eugene Levy, and Catherine O'Hara. Rated PG-13.

Only service animals are permitted in the Museum’s building.
