Event Description
Join us for Tea and Tours and find out what’s new at the Carter as we explore two current exhibitions.
Morning Light: Photographs of David H. Gibson
Dallas photographer David H. Gibson has been exploring the beauty of the Southwestern landscape for more than 50 years. This exhibition shows his fascination with dawn’s break into day at two of his favorite sites, Cypress Creek in Wimberley, Texas, and Eagle Nest Lake east of Taos, New Mexico.
Bookmaking as Art
This exhibition examines Gibson’s one-of-a-kind photography books, which are accompanied by handmade clamshell boxes that act as frames for the photographs housed within. The materials are crafted in his studio to compel viewers to open the archival box and explore the accordion-style pages.
Free for Carter members, $5 for additional nonmember guests. RSVP by email or call 817.989.5060.
