Event Details
Event Date
Event Description
Join us from your home every Wednesday morning in July for weekly storytime in connection with an artwork in the Carter’s collection. After the story, we’ll walk you through a fun art project using art materials you already have at home.
This week we will focus on the theme “tradition” by reading When the Shadbush Blooms by Carla Messinger in connection with Ballplay of the Dakota on the St. Peters River in Winter created by Seth Eastman. After the story, we’ll make traditional block prints using fruits and vegetables. You’ll need the following supplies:
- Fruits and vegetables cut in half, like apples, lemons, corn, mushrooms, lettuce, celery, onions, broccoli
- Tempera paint
- Cardboard or paper plates for paint
- Brushes (not required)
- Any type of paper (computer paper, colored paper, newspaper)
Free. Reservations are not required. Virtual Art Tales will take place on the Carter’s Facebook Live.
