November 06, 2014 Amon Carter Museum of American Art Announces New Exhibition Designer

Fort Worth, TX, November 6, 2014—The Amon Carter Museum of American Art is pleased to announce that Tim Smith has joined the art and research department as the exhibition designer and installation director. Smith has 20 years of experience in the planning, development and implementation of exhibitions at museums and heritage sites.

“Tim brings a wide range of design talent and experience to the Amon Carter,” says Margi Conrads, deputy director of art and research. “His creativity and expertise will greatly contribute to our commitment that our collections and exhibitions are seen at their best to ensure visitors enjoyable and meaningful experiences.”

Prior to joining the Amon Carter, Smith worked at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry in the United Kingdom. He also has exhibition and graphic design experience from tenures at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, and exhibit design firms in Portland and Dallas. Smith graduated cum laude from Drake University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art offers outstanding exhibitions and public programs for adults and children and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. Admission is always free.
