Inaugural Day in the District Celebration Set for September 30, 2006

Fort Worth, TX, September 28, 2006—The museums of Fort Worth’s Cultural District, the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, and Log Cabin Village announce the inaugural Day in the District, a celebration of the exceptional cultural assets of our city.

Fort Worth is internationally-recognized as having one of the greatest museum districts and active arts communities in the country. With three world-class art museums housed in three of the nation’s most important architectural accomplishments, a science museum with interactive exhibits and one of the largest IMAX theaters in the world, and the only museum dedicated to honoring the accomplishments of women in the American West, Fort Worth stands out as the Southwest’s capital for arts and culture. In addition to the great museums in the Cultural District, Fort Worth boasts wonderful performing arts organizations, from theater to music to dance, that entertain and enlighten.

Day in the District celebrates Fort Worth’s diverse cultural organizations in a day of free programming and free or half-priced admission to museum exhibitions. With this event, the organizers invite Metroplex residents to come enjoy one of the world’s leading arts centers—the one in their own backyard.
