Fort Worth, TX, February 1, 2008—Amon Carter Museum Director of Outreach Lori Eklund announced today Stacy Fuller has been named Head of Education. She has been Instructional Services Manager at the museum since 2004. In her new role, Fuller takes over the supervisory duties of the education department from Eklund, who continued to manage the education staff after being named Director of Outreach in 2004.

“Stacy has developed outstanding and innovative programs and services for our audiences,” said Director of Outreach Lori Eklund. “She has been deeply involved with teachers, homeschool students and parents, and visitors with special needs. Her passionate enthusiasm for art and helping all visitors understand our collections is infectious.”

Fuller now oversees the museum’s extensive and varied education outreach program, which includes school tours, educator training and workshops, teaching resource center and distance learning, among other programs. Fuller will continue to develop programs that enhance the level of understanding and relevance of the Carter’s collections and special exhibitions to a full range of audiences, all designed to carry out the museum’s mission to “service an educational role through exhibitions, publications and programs devoted to the study of American art.”

“From my first days as an intern, I developed an intense appreciation for the Carter’s collection, its educational philosophy, and the dedicated team of educators who serve so many through their programs,” Fuller said. “I’m excited to continue working to provide more opportunities for all visitors to connect to the Carter’s outstanding collection of American art.”

Prior to her position as the Carter’s Instructional Services Manager, Fuller served two internships at the museum: one working with photographer Laura Gilpin’s Canyon de Chelly photographs, and the second as a Henry E. Luce Foundation Works on Paper intern. She was also an educational intern at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and has held positions at the Meadows Museum of Art and the Centenary College Art Department, both in Shreveport, La. She has given numerous presentations at association conferences, including American Association of Museums, Texas Association of Museums, National Art Education Association, Texas Art Education Association, and the Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability.

Fuller holds a B.A. in museum management from Centenary College of Louisiana and an M.A. in art history from Texas Christian University.
