All tours are always free!

The Carter offers regularly scheduled public tours Fridays through Sundays, no reservations required. These docent-led tours take you through the collection, current special exhibitions, and even behind-the-scenes of our library and archives. Visit the Tours page to find out what's coming up.

Reservations are required at least three weeks in advance for private tours, which we can tailor for your group. Please fill out the form on this page to schedule a private docent-led or self-guided group tour.

Tours can be scheduled Tuesdays through Fridays with two weeks' notice. During the school year we can accommodate tours between 12:30 and 4 p.m.; during summer break we can accommodate tours between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
